March 26, 2003 Personal Hand DeliveredMr. Joe Co-Worker 7782 Main Street Anytown, Anystate 12345 Dr. Mr. Co-Worker: I am writing to this personal letter to advise you confidentially of conduct that you are engaging in that I find unacceptable. I write in hopes that you will understand and respect my discomfort regarding what you are doing and stop it immediately. I would prefer, and assume you would also, to resolve this matter privately. Every month you bring in a new Hustler magazine and place it in the break room. It has become so frequent, that our co-workers expect it and gather around and discuss the physical attributes of various women in the magazine. In addition, you make a regular habit of pulling out the centerfold picture and posting it at your desk. Therefore, not only do I have to see the pictures while I am walking to my desk, I also have to suffer as our colleagues stop by your desk and make further inappropriate comments about the “hottie of the month” as you call her. This makes me very uncomfortable and I find it distracts me from my work. I am sure you can see, I do not wish to engage in nor overhear such activity and I want others to respect that I find it offensive. I hope and trust that this letter will end the difficulties once and for all so that we can have a cordial and professional relationship. Sincerely, Dorothy Distraught |
